So kind of you not to mention that I accidentally threw away your favorite nail punch during the Dutch Tool Chest class.

Dammit, that was a piece of solid gold blog-fodder I forgot to include.

Ignoring for the nonce the omission of The Story of the Lost Nail Punch, I must say that this post is, for me, the best New Year’s Day read since back when Dave Barry was in his prime. I can barely imagine how much better it might have been with inclusion of the dramatic tale of the lost tool.

Then again, he warned us—his outfit is called Lost Art Press.

Thanks for the kind words Perry. Maybe next New Year’s Day I’ll tell the nail punch story.

Mr. Sutton, no need for too much self deprecation. I think your tool chest is well thought out and executed. Some would require our wooden projects to be made of the special unobtainium tree only found in two places on the frozen continent (Illinois). I think the tray notch a cool hack and the tray handles are not only practical but look good. PS on a previous post regarding lighting, have you considered skylights? My wife has requirements of extra lighting throughout the house except for the living room where we have many windows for natural light. Thanks The best to you
