It's only a matter of time, now.

Designed a beautiful consumer object. Portable; carried out the task perfectly; truly a work of art. It took thousands of total hours for several people.

That nobody wanted to produce, because it wouldn’t sell.

Try not to fall in love with every clever idea you have. Because once in awhile, your clever idea is actually a stupid one. Ask me how I know.

(If anyone wants to invest in my next genius idea, the Electric Edsel 5000, text me: ‘K??)

Looks like a version of the math-o-matt I had in high school but more highfalutin in a snazzy way. In fact- I still have the damn math-o-matt thing! Shatterproof polycarbonate, about half a mm thick with protractor, rule, log scale and a bunch of common geometric shapes and imprinted gravitas such as E=mc2 . I can attest to one claim however, it is damn near indestructible as no damage is apparent from it being used as a frisbee and it would make a truly shit bottle opener due to the flexibility.

Just add a bottle opener and it’ll be ready to market.

You may well joke, but I did actually make a laser cut acrylic bottle opener. The slow motion video of it self-destructing in use makes me laugh to this day.

Can you post that video???

Ed Sutton's avatar

I don't think I can retrospectively add a video to a published post unfortunately

The ThunderCougarFalconBird! Or is that a different episode of The Simpsons?

If only we had a system to protect us from our shit ideas, our government could sure use one. ( don’t know about yours)

You could make an amusing flow chart ( in acrylic of course) that people could use to see if the idea makes it through the process.

This idea is free, I’ve got a million of them.

Are these still available?

Yes, £1000 each.
